3M is always committed to volunteering, giving, and caring for the society. This year, to celebrate “3M Global Volunteer Day” initiated by the Headquarters, 3M Hong Kong lent a hand to some families in need and made a real difference to the society.

The 3M Board of Directors (NYSE:MMM) declared a dividend on the company’s common stock of $1.11 per share for the third quarter of 2016, which is payable Sept. 12, 2016, to shareholders of record at the close of business on Aug. 19, 2016. 3M has paid dividends to its shareholders without interruption since 1916.

For 8 years in a row, 3M has been supporting Orbis annual creative eye-care campaign among kindergartens in Hong Kong. The campaign aims at raising the pupils’ awareness by teaching them to take good care of their eye-sight and helping those who suffer from blindness.

3M Promotes Good Green Living

The National Society of High School Scholars Millennial Career Survey has identified 3M as the most preferred company to work for among respondents in 2016. The survey included 13,000 high school and college students and young professionals. Survey participants demonstrated a keen interest for careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and to use their skills to improve the world.

As a science-based, diversified company, 3M use science and technology every day to improve lives and recognizes the importance of STEM (i.e. science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines in solving some of the most pressing problems around the globe. To support the World Health Organization’s World Blood Donor Day on June 14, 3M Hong Kong gives blood donors who visit Hong Kong Red Cross Donor Centres or its Mobile Donation Vehicles a free, limited-edition Nexcare™ GIVE bandage gift pack during June 4 to 17.

Campaign Video of Nexcare™ Tegaderm™ Dressing was chosen as one of the “Best Idea – Video” in the MARKies Awards 2016. It employs finger puppets – a fun and memorable way of presentation – to bring out the core message: “Do whatever you like, and we will back you up.”

3M Hong Kong has been named “Manpower Developer (2011-2017)” for 6 consecutive years by the Employees Retraining Board in its “ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme”. The Scheme aims at publicly recognizing corporations and organizations which demonstrate outstanding achievements in manpower training and development.

Since 2006, 3M has been named the “Caring Company” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. This year, by fulfilling 16 criteria out of 18 under the Caring Company Scheme, 3M was presented with the “10 Year Plus Caring Company” honour. It is a public recognition of 3M’s commitment to sustainable development through a proactive approach. The award presentation ceremony was held on May 10 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. On behalf of 3M Hong Kong, Ms Karen Jin, General Manager, received the Certificate of Appreciation and took photo with the nominator, Dr Fung Cheung Tim, Director of Richmond Fellowship of Hong Kong.

3M Hong Kong received 2 Gold Awards by accomplishing two Green Missions – “Save Resources” and “Save Energy” – organized by Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong) to help minimize the human impact to our planet.

To celebrate the Earth Day, 3M Hong Kong fully supports the first ever Earth Day Run in Hong Kong by sponsoring it in the name of Futuro™ brand.

3M deeply believes that we can realize a world where every life is improved by working collaboratively. To show its wholehearted support to Earth Hour, the world's largest collective environmental action initiated by WWF, 3M Hong Kong will turn its lights off at the office, customer technical centre and distribution centre during the lunch hour (1230-1330) on March 18.

3M Hong Kong is named by the GS1 Hong Kong as a “Consumer Caring Company” for 5 consecutive years. This year, the Company will also receive a specifically designed logo “Consumer Caring 5 years”.
 

As the world marks International Women’s Day on March 8, 3M Hong Kong organizes its first “HK In” Event for the employees to get together and be inspired.
 

3M Hong Kong has launched 8 new color collections of Post-it® Notes and Super Sticky Notes recently, and its campaign won “The Best Creative Buy” in “Metro Creative Awards 2016”.

Interbrand’s “Best Global Brands 2016” announced that 3M ranked #59, unchanged from 2015, and the value of 3M brand went up 13% to $8.2 billion, a significant growth that is nearly 3 times the average rate of the top 100 brands.

3M Hong Kong was recognized as a “Family-Friendly Employer”, and received the Award for Breastfeeding Support in the “Family-Friendly Employer Award Scheme” 2015/16.

Shows respect and love to Senior Citizens through Yum Cha Event

The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong (IET Hong Kong) visited 3M Customer Technical Centre. 3M Technical Department toured them around the Centre and introduced 3M’s significant inventions, core technical platforms, as well as the ways in which 3M science help improve people’s daily life.
