The following are the areas where 3M Hong Kong has demonstrated its commitment to the sustainable development of Hong Kong:

• Caring for the community

  3M motivates its staff to participate in volunteer activities and provides cash or in-kind donations to the community. For example, 3M volunteers pay visits to families in need - including those with single parents or disabled, and seniors who live alone – to help promote a caring and inclusive community. Also, 3M purchased services from the shelter workshops which prepare those who are physically or mentally impaired to re-enter into the open employment market.

• Caring for the employees

  Chosen by the Employees Retraining Board as “Manpower Developer”, 3M prides itself with its strong team and is committed to attracting and retaining the best people by providing them with rewarding career opportunities through on-going development and training. The company also actively communicate with its employees through various means, provide comprehensive benefits, care for their occupational safety and health, respect their family responsibility, and actively promote work-life balance.

• Caring for the environment

  3M Hong Kong is deeply committed to reducing the impacts of its operation on the environment. It has the ISO14001 certification for its environmental management system, and has set up various measures internally to slash waste, conserve energy and prevent pollution. In addition, it sponsors and supports various environmental protection groups, such as forming partnership with Friend of the Earth to promote green knowledge in the community.
