3M Hong Kong was recognized as a “Family-Friendly Employer”, and received the Award for Breastfeeding Support in the “Family-Friendly Employer Award Scheme” 2015/16. The Presentation Ceremony was held on Oct 25th at Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre.  3M representatives from Human Resources Department received the accolades and certificates on behalf of the company.

The biennial Award Scheme, first launched in 2011 by the Family Council - an advisory board to the Government – and the Home Affair Bureau, recognizes employers who attached importance to the family-friendly spirit, and encourages them to continue to put in place measures that foster a pro-family culture and environment.

An assessment panel comprising experts and representatives from various sectors will assess the applications to the Award Scheme and select the winners according to criteria including the employers’ family-friendly employment policies and practices, benefits of implementing those policies and practices, and the rationale behind the implementation of those policies and practices and management commitment.

This year, the Award Scheme added the Award for Breastfeeding Support 2015/16 to commend employers providing an appropriate and friendly environment for their breastfeeding employees to express breast-milk in the workplace to continue breastfeeding their children.
