3M is always committed to volunteering, giving, and caring for the society. This year, to celebrate “3M Global Volunteer Day” initiated by the Headquarters, 3M Hong Kong lent a hand to some families in need and made a real difference to the society.

On September 3, more than 30 volunteers and their family members from 3M Hong Kong, accompanied by the social workers and staff of ALOHA (Wong Tai Sin), an Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness of Richmond Fellowship of Hong Kong, visited more than 30 needy families in the Wong Tai Sin district, including those with single parents or disabled as well as seniors who live alone. This was the third time in which 3M Hong Kong and Richmond Fellowship of Hong Kong worked together to promote a caring and inclusive community.

All volunteers gathered at ALOHA (Wong Tai Sin) early in the morning to learn the visiting procedures from the social worker and cheered up each other by singing together. Then, each small group of volunteers was led by a social worker or staff from ALOHA (Wong Tai Sin) to visit 3 or 4 families. The families were very pleased to see and chatted enthusiastically with the visitors. Our volunteers presented the gift bags to each family and wished them a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

3M Hong Kong volunteer Stanley Lee is proud of the company for it has been actively caring for the society. “I am deeply moved when I see my colleagues bring their children to participate in the voluntary work and show care for those needy families. What we did is so little, but that inspired us to become a better person - to listen patiently, share heartily, and live positively with a grateful heart. I hope our company and colleagues will continue to grow, and make even more contributions to our community,” he said.
